Christmas at Walt Disney World 2026: Party Dates, Festive Snacks & a Little Christmas Nostalgia

There’s something about walking onto Main Street, U.S.A. at Christmas that gets us every single time. The wreaths are up, garland stretches across the buildings, Christmas music is playing, Cinderella Castle is waiting at the end of the street, and for the next few days your biggest concern may be whether you can justify another holiday snack before dinner.

You can.

Christmas at Walt Disney World officially takes over the resort from November 13, 2026 through January 6, 2027, with some of Disney’s ticketed Christmas events beginning even earlier.

And this year has a LOT going on.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is back. EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays returns after Thanksgiving. Disney Jollywood Nights is getting its longest season yet. The Merry Menagerie will be wandering through Animal Kingdom, Disney Springs will be covered in Christmas trees, and Disney Resort hotels will get dressed for the season too.

So if a Disney Christmas has been sitting on your “maybe one year” list, we have good news.

There’s still time to make 2026 that year.

Christmas at Magic Kingdom in 2026

If your idea of Disney Christmas involves Mickey, toy soldiers, Main Street decorations, Cinderella Castle and as much Christmas music as Disney can fit into one evening, start here.

Magic Kingdom gets some of the most recognizable holiday touches at Walt Disney World.

Jungle Cruise becomes Jingle Cruise, complete with Christmas decorations and an impressive commitment to holiday puns. Frozen Holiday Surprise returns in front of Cinderella Castle with Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Kristoff and the Snowgies.

Then there is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

And she is VERY Christmas.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 2026 Dates

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a separately ticketed event at Magic Kingdom. The party runs from 7:00 PM to midnight, but ticket holders can enter Magic Kingdom beginning at 4:00 PM without purchasing a regular theme park ticket for that evening.

For 2026, party tickets range from $189 to $229 plus tax depending on the date.

The complete Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 2026 dates are:

  • November: 8, 9, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 20, 24, 25, 27 and 29
  • December: 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 17, 18, 20 and 22

Party nights are limited capacity and can sell out, especially as you get closer to Christmas.

What Happens During Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party?

This is where Disney leans all the way into Christmas.

Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade comes through Magic Kingdom with Disney characters in holiday outfits, dancing gingerbread people, ballroom dancers, marching toy soldiers and Santa Claus.

Main Street gets its famous snowfall.

Yes, we know we are standing in Florida.

No, we do not care. 😂

Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks fills the sky over Cinderella Castle with fireworks, projections and Christmas music. Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration returns to the Cinderella Castle stage, and guests can find holiday character experiences throughout the park.

Disney has confirmed Mickey and Minnie in their holiday looks at Town Square Theater, Jack Skellington as Sandy Claws with Sally, Anna and Elsa at Princess Fairytale Hall and Santa’s Christmas Carnival at Storybook Circus.

Several attractions also join the party.

Space Mountain gets holiday music and lighting. Tomorrowland Speedway receives a Christmas makeover. Mad Tea Party adds seasonal lighting and music, and Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor gets a holiday version of its show.

You can technically ride Space Mountain without Christmas music any other month of the year.

December has options. 😂

The Christmas Party Snacks

Part of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party involves making your way around Magic Kingdom collecting complimentary cookies and festive hot and cold beverages at designated treat locations.

They are included with your party ticket.

You could eat one cookie.

You could also see a treat station sign in the distance and decide this is now a personal mission.

Disney has not released the complete 2026 party Foodie Guide yet, but several returning specialty items have already been confirmed.

The Carne Asada Loaded Fries are returning to Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe. The Snowflake Ornament dessert will be back at Pinocchio Village Haus, and the Hazelnut Carriage Cake returns to Cinderella’s Royal Table.

More 2026 holiday food and drinks will be announced closer to the season.

We’re not going to hand you a giant list of 2025 snacks and hope nobody notices the year changed. 😂 When Disney releases the full 2026 menus, those are the ones worth planning around.

Do You Need Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party?

Not necessarily.

This is one of those Disney decisions where we care much more about what you want from the vacation than telling every family they need the same add on.

If the parade, exclusive entertainment, party characters, ride overlays and snowfall on Main Street are part of the Christmas you are picturing, the party can be a major highlight.

If you would rather use that evening for a resort dinner, spend another day in EPCOT or enjoy Magic Kingdom during regular park hours, there is still plenty of Christmas around you.

The party is an experience.

It does not determine whether your vacation counts as a Disney Christmas.

EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays 2026

Now we need to talk about EPCOT. Because if Magic Kingdom gives us classic Disney Christmas, EPCOT gives us Christmas traditions from around the world with a Festival Passport in one hand and something delicious in the other.

The EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays runs from November 27 through December 30, 2026.

The festival is included with regular EPCOT admission.

World Showcase fills with Holiday Storytellers sharing seasonal traditions from the countries they represent. Guests can hear about Las Posadas in Mexico, meet the Barn Santa in Norway, learn about the Advent calendar in Germany, hear the story of La Befana in Italy and meet PÚre Noël in France.

This is one of the reasons we would give EPCOT a real place in a Christmas itinerary instead of treating it like the park you squeeze in between Magic Kingdom days.

There’s a lot happening here.

Candlelight Processional

The Candlelight Processional returns to America Gardens Theatre throughout the festival.

A celebrity narrator tells the Christmas story accompanied by a mass choir and orchestra.

It is beautiful, traditional and completely different from the character-driven Christmas experiences happening elsewhere around Walt Disney World.

Disney has not released the 2026 celebrity narrator lineup yet.

Candlelight Processional Dining Packages will also return. Those combine a meal at a participating EPCOT restaurant with guaranteed seating for a performance, which can be a great fit for travelers who already know Candlelight Processional is high on their list.

EPCOT Holiday Kitchens and the Cookie Stroll

This is also where our Christmas food agenda gets serious.

Holiday Kitchens around EPCOT serve dishes and drinks inspired by seasonal traditions from around the world.

Disney has already confirmed several returning options for 2026, including Seasonal Shakes from Experimental Prototype Cookies of Tomorrow, Creamy Eggnog from Chestnuts & Good Cheer Holiday Kitchen, Turkey Poutine from La Poutinerie and macarons from Le Marché de Noël Holiday Kitchen.

The full 2026 menus are still coming.

The Holiday Cookie Stroll will return as well.

Grab a Festival Passport, purchase qualifying cookies from participating locations and collect stamps as you go. Complete the required stamps and you can redeem your passport for a special completion treat.

Disney has not announced the final 2026 Cookie Stroll lineup yet, so we are waiting before choosing favorites.

We take Christmas cookie journalism very seriously around here.

Glimmering Greenhouses

Do not leave EPCOT before riding Living with the Land at night.

During the holidays, Living with the Land: Glimmering Greenhouses fills the attraction’s greenhouses with Christmas lights and seasonal decorations.

It is simple. It is cozy. And it has no business being as charming as it is.

Add the holiday lighting on Spaceship Earth, the Holiday Storytellers, Candlelight Processional and a trip around the Holiday Kitchens, and EPCOT can easily become one of the best days of a Disney Christmas vacation.

Disney Jollywood Nights 2026

Christmas at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has a completely different personality.

Think vintage decorations, glowing reindeer along Sunset Boulevard, holiday music, old Hollywood and a little more sparkle.

Disney Jollywood Nights is a separately ticketed event held at Hollywood Studios. For the first time, the 2026 season extends into January.

Jollywood Nights will take place on November 7, 14, 16, 21, 23 and 28; December 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21 and 23; and January 3 and 5.

Guests can enter Hollywood Studios beginning at 5:30 PM, with the event running from 7:30 PM until 12:30 AM.

Entertainment includes Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!, Disney Holidays in Hollywood, the Twilight Soirée at the Tip Top Club, character experiences and Jazzy Holidays at The Hollywood Brown Derby.

This is the Christmas party we would look at for someone who loves Disney but wants their holiday evening with a little old Hollywood mixed in. Plus, we have found that Jollywood Nights often feels significantly less crowded than Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party if that’s your vibe.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Jollywood Nights are not interchangeable.

The one that belongs in your vacation depends on the Christmas you want.

Christmas at Hollywood Studios During the Day

You also do not need a Jollywood Nights ticket to enjoy Christmas at Hollywood Studios.

Sunset Boulevard is one of our favorite places in Walt Disney World once the Christmas decorations go up.

Sunset Seasons Greetings turns the Hollywood Tower Hotel into part of the celebration with holiday projections. Toy Story Land receives oversized Christmas decorations, while Woody, Jessie and Buzz appear in seasonal outfits.

The Frozen Sing-Along also adds a holiday finale featuring Olaf.

There’s something about Hollywood Studios and Christmas nostalgia that works particularly well together. The retro decorations already look like they belong on the cover of an old Christmas record.

Give us the glowing Hollywood Tower Hotel after dark and we are happy.

Christmas at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Animal Kingdom takes a quieter approach.

The star here is the Merry Menagerie on Discovery Island.

Artisan-created arctic animal puppets, including polar bears, penguins, reindeer and foxes, interact with guests while musicians add Christmas music to the area.

These are not characters standing at a traditional meet and greet backdrop.

They wander. They play. They are extremely cute.

We will hear no arguments against the polar bear.

The Tree of Life Awakenings Holiday Edition also adds seasonal stories and music to the Tree of Life after dark, and Mickey and Minnie meet guests in holiday expedition outfits at Adventurers Outpost.

Animal Kingdom is a great place to give the itinerary room to breathe while still keeping Christmas in the day.

Christmas at Disney Springs and the Resorts

Don’t make the mistake of treating every Christmas moment as something that needs a theme park ticket.

Disney Springs brings back the Christmas Tree Stroll, with trees decorated around different Disney, Pixar and Star Wars stories. Town Center also gets snowfall in the evenings, and Santa will make appearances through December 24.

Then there are the Disney Resort hotels.

This is one of our favorite ways to add Christmas to a trip without adding another park day.

The resorts receive huge Christmas trees, elaborate decorations, seasonal food and drinks, and their own holiday personality.

A monorail resort afternoon can turn into Christmas sightseeing. Stop for lunch or dinner, walk through a lobby, look at the decorations and give everyone’s feet a break before heading out again that evening.

One important change for 2026: Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will not have its traditional large gingerbread house this year while work continues around the resort. Smaller gingerbread displays are planned instead.

We would much rather know that before planning an entire Grand Floridian stop around a gingerbread house that will not be there.

Can You Still Plan a Last Minute Disney Christmas Vacation for 2026?

Yes.

And “last minute” in Disney language does not mean you have ruined the trip because you did not book it months ago.

It means we plan around what is available now.

Your first choice room category may be gone. Certain party nights can sell out. Popular dining reservations may need flexibility.

That still leaves four theme parks, dozens of resorts, holiday events, restaurants and a surprising number of ways to build a great Christmas vacation.

Disney is also currently offering savings of up to 20% on select Disney Resort hotel rooms for qualifying holiday travel dates in late 2026. Availability and discounts vary by resort and date.

This is where we would rather look at the whole trip before deciding it is too late.

Maybe moving your dates by one night gives you the party you wanted. A different resort could put you in a better location for the things you want to experience. A trip that starts before Thanksgiving may look very different from one during the first week of December.

If You Have Been Thinking About Disney at Christmas…

This year has plenty of reasons to stop thinking about it and start looking at dates.

Come for the castle dressed for Christmas.

Stay for the toy soldiers, EPCOT Holiday Kitchens, resort decorations, Merry Menagerie, parade music, characters in Christmas outfits and the annual realization that everything tastes better when it is shaped like Mickey.

Buy an ornament while you’re there.

Years from now, when you pull it out of the box, it won’t remind you of a reservation number or how many months in advance you booked the trip.

It will remind you of Main Street covered in Christmas lights.

And THAT is the Disney souvenir we are after. 🎄
